 Patient One: Adam Bismarck (Open)
« Thread Started on May 17, 2006, 5:03pm »

Mrs. Bismarck was horribly worried about her son. She wasn't too fond of the haughtiness of the blonde British doctor, either. She'd have to keep a close eye on him.

Standing back only the tiniest bit to allow the nurse assisting Dr. Chase to help Adam into his room, Mrs. Bismarck wrung her hands nervously. Why couldn't they figure out what was wrong with him?! He was only eleven years old for Christ's sake! The moment Adam was comfortably in bed, she was pulling up a chair by his side, and taking his hand in hers.

Adam seemed unbothered by both Chase's actions and his mother's actions. In fact, he didn't seem to be responding to his mother's grip.

"Adam? Adam..." She let out a shriek as his lips started to turn blue and his body began to convulse.

ooc: AH! My first CHASE!MOMENT.

bic: Chase looked at the nurse and motioned for her to get help. "He's not breathing." He called out loudly, stethescope ear plugs going up to his ears to listen for a heart. The boy wasn't hoooked up yet, so he couldn't look at the screen. "He's got a heart beat, but it's faint. We have to intebate." The Aussie announced, moving quickly to grab the odd looking tools. Then pulling the pillow from behind Adam's head and laying him there, he looked up. "Ready." He declared, and then pushed the end of the tool down the boys throat.

((Okay, I'm going to attemp this again. Probably not the best time to do so as I have to leave in 20 mins, but anywho...))

Cameron was on Adam's other side attempting to detatch Mrs. Bismarck from her son's hand. "Ma'am, we need you to step back, please." Her eyes pleaded with the woman to let them do their work.

"What-what is he doing?!" she cried trying to push past Cameron's gentle hands firm on her shoulders.

Cameron glanced behind her seeing Chase intubating. Turning back to face the worried mother, she carefully explained what Chase was doing. "I assure you, Dr. Chase knows what he's doing." If only the poor woman knew how many times they've intubated.

It took a few seconds, but finally Mrs. Bismarck nodded sullenly and stepped back away from Cameron's hands allowing her to return to Adam's other side. She quickly gathered the discarded plastics Chase had thrown and tossed them out. She met Chase's eyes briefly before turning to study the monitors as the boy's breathing started to regulate and his heart rate slowed and the beeping from the monitors became steady once more.

Chase let out the smallest sigh of relief. He still wasn't over the baby thing, though he knew there was nothing he could have done. The kidneys were squished, you can't save kidneys of a new born. The surgery would kill them.

Looking up to the monitor, he too watched the numbers and listened to the sounds returned to normal, then turned to Cameron. Brushing a strand of hair back so it stuck in place with all of the others, he glanced at the mother outside. "You can let her back in. Otherwise, call House." He told her in a slow and calm tone.

Cameron nodded slowly, her eyes flickering back over to the pale, still boy. She glanced at the monitor making sure everything was under control before she strode across the room. She met Mrs. Bismarck's eyes and nodded solemnly.

"You can come back in now. He's resting. I'm going to go get his doctor."

Mrs. Bismarck looked panicked. "You're-you're not his doctor?!" she nearly screeched.

Cameron winced. "Dr. House is in charge of Diagnostics. Dr. Chase and I are on his team." She placed her hand over the other woman's momentarily. "Dr. Chase will take good care of your son. I'll be back." With that she left the room.

Chase sighed as he sat down for a moment, content as the second of silence passed. But, how long would it hold on? Would it last longer, or die the moment Cameron was gone? The blond hoped it lasted like years and Cameron came back with House quickly. His head was pounding for some reason, he wasn't sure why he had a head ache. Chase could hardly think of anything to cause it. Other than Mrs. Bismarck that is. She was a nightmare in herself!
